    The ls1 is cheap. Why not put it in? What's the downside of this?

    Everyone is telling you to keep the LS1 for another project or sell it to upgrade what you currently have. Swapping the two will create work and take money and in the end will not give you what you want. If it is more pulling power you desire, retune what you got as mentioned before and re-gear the drivetrain. A re-gear will give you the "pulling power" you want and add the retune on top of it and done. It's your choice though, do exactly as you want regardless of what others tell you. Good luck
