    Smile Proven Combo's for 12s

I figured this would be good for everyone to read and put info in here on how to have a reliable 12 second DD that's not a total kill on the wallet. It seems that everyone is looking to be in this 1/4 mile range somewhat and have there ride be street able at the same time. If anyone has proven combos please list what the supporting mods are. Please Include tire type and size ( ie drag radial, stick, street tire, etc.... ), Wheels and size rims ( steel, aluminum, etc...), Traction devices ( cal-tracs, slapper bars, spring clamps, etc...), gears, motor ( if swapped ), heads, cam and specs, Valvesprings, pushrods, headers, Exhaust setups ( single 3", true duals, etc....) trans work, Stall converter ( Size and type, also what brand, and if it is lockup or not), fuel octane rating, HP/TQ numbers at time of pass, dyno sheets if available at time of pass. Also include body style, year, weight, and any weight reduction that was done. Try and list as much information as possible to help everyone make " decisions " on HP and time slip goals that they may be trying to meet.

    5.3 2005 rcsb 3970lbs (race wieght)
    224/230 .581/.588 112 lsa : bought used 100$
    Comp 918 springs :used 100$
    Hardened pushrods: 100$
    Ls2 intake and TB :400$
Stock heads (862s) port and polished :400$
Stock 80e (bone stock, outta salvage yard, traded for my barely modded 60e with a stall)
    Yank 3600 stall :used 450$
    Detroit true trac :420$
    Summit brand 4:11s :125$
315/45/16 mickey thompson drag radials :400$
    Cal tracs:550$
Nelson mail order tune :450$ (not 100 percent sure on that price was a long time ago)
    Pacesetter headers:400$
    K&N cai :used 150$
    2 stage plate :300$
    Stand alone nitrous system: 1200$

    On motor 373 rwhp/ 100 shot(1st stage) 462 rwhp
    Went 13.0 on motor 12.1 @ 113 on a 100 shot in tulsa, ok.
FWIW never got full pass or dyno on both stages but ran 11.8 @ 114 on a 200 shot.

I put prices that were from 5 years ago, but was just showing you dont have to spend a fortune to have a decently quick truck that can still be driven to work. Also i ran the same parts for 5 years, so running some used parts if youre on a budget isnt gonna hurt.
