cam for 5.3 or 4.8 reving to 7500rpm

Any can suggestions you guys have for a high rpm engine. Thinking of a single plane Vic Jr manifold on top of a Gen 4 5.3/4.8 with ported 243/799 heads.

Low lift, and a much lighter valve train than stock. I also think that a higher lobe sep would react better. I'd use the 4.8 since it has a shorter stroke.

I was think about the 4.8 as well since it has the 3.27 stroke it should windup faster. I had a 224/230 588 114 lsa can in the 5.3 and it pulled great to 6500 with no sign of loosing power plus ill run 4.56 or 4.88 gears.

Why not spin 7500??? Small NA motor so I'm thinking deep gears and lots of rpm allowing more MPH in each gear.

if you reach 7500 it will sound great...look into some of the 2002 ls6 z06 valves, they are lighter and will install in any 243 or 799 head without issue...

and compression will be your friend along with a good amount of duration to keep throttle response up

    good luck man...I never got my 6.0 to make peak power over 6,600, but it was still a beast..AFR 225 heads 11.8 compression 232 /234 .595 .598 lift .... 464 rwhp through an unlocked 4l60e 3600 converter

Don't gen 4 motors come with 243/799 stock? That CR is crazy low.

Yup 243 heads stock. Chamber volume is bigger. BTW compression ratio on same year 5.3 is 9.5:1.
