DRs on the street

Since I'm installing the LS1 in my 68, I'm worried traction may be an issue. I've always thought it would be fun to run some DRs. My question is how do they do in normal driving conditions, like curves, wet conditions, etc.? Do I need to keep a set of regular street tires on hand for certain conditions?

The backspacing on my current rear wheels is wrong, so I'm considering putting the drag radials on the current wheels(since mostly for straight line action anyway), and getting new rear wheels with the correct offset to run regular radials, especially since I plan to do some occasional autocrossing with the truck.

I loved having my Drag Radials on. It got a bit squirrely when it was wet out. As long as you dont drive like an idiot during the rain or just slick roads you should be good. I liked the fact that the ass end of the truck wouldnt just come out from under me trying to really get on it to get around someone or whatever

Run drag radials on my camaro and drive it everywhere rain or shine.... Does get a little sketchy in downpour situations but mickeys will dead hook on just about anything but loose gravel if you got a decent suspension set up

NT555Rs are a good compromise. My car with MTs would break loose on wet roads at 50mph in 5th, with cruse control. The nittos at least have some grooving to get rid of water.

I'm running ET street radials on my truck and we've had a little rain recently. As long as I'm somewhat nice to it, it won't kick out. Haven't had it at hwy speeds in the rain though.

I ran 3 sets of 555r's on my 4th Gen Camaro and loved them. I just can't afford to run them now on my truck bc they won't last more than 5k miles. That's the only thing preventing me from running them

On the truck right now i have hankooks for the street. Truck currently is on a mild street tune up on 12psi. little over 600 rwhp and with how my rear suspension is setup it hooks up very well.
DRs are great but wear out fast depending on power and road surface, i ran DRs but now on these hankooks...i recomend them highly

Which hankooks? I am planning on Venus 2 rh06.

I used to daily my MT ET streets, and i mean everywhere, 200 miles round trip to the track and back, to the store and they were great just took it easy in the rain.
