    5.3 upper water pipe

    Could use some help with how to remove the upper water pipe on a 2004 5.3 (want to modify the pipe)

    Upper water pipe? The steam vent that goes from head to head? If so, two little hex bolts on each head hold the fittings down.

    Or are you talking about the upper pipe on the water pump?

    Im pretty sure they are pressed in, why do you want to do to it and why?

    i turned mine to clear a re-located a/c compressor. i just used a propane torch to heat the aluminum. it got very loose, would have pulled out easily. id imagine you could heat back up to put back in. you can barely see it in this pic, its pointed straight forward now

    Using the engine in a 63 Nova and want to route the radiator hose towards the drivers side and point downward

    If nothing else, maybe cut and bead roll the existing pipe the use a mandrel bent pipe connect with hose and clamps. Unless you're going for the clean look of a well made turnaround pipe
