5.3 to 6.0 swap...now stuck on tranny decision

so i swapped a 6.0 into my 1999 gmc 1500 that had the 5.3 . its got the 4l60e in it now but its new hp pretty much blew 2nd gear out. so would it be a better idea to buy a built 4l60e? or get a 4l80e to swap into it?? and with the 4l80e swap can i run the transfer case thats on the 4l60? or what one do i need? and will i need anything else to do the swap??? the motor im running is about 450 hp. just wondering how to fix this the cheapest way i can but still be reliable.

Go with an 80e but swap to awd that'd be way better! Check out the stickie about swapping to awd he used an 80e. Sick setup for sure.

I'm thinking a built 4l80, my uncle has one in his 99 shortbed, and it is flawless with some tuning.

Im in a pretty similar swap and the flywheels on 6.0 and 5.3 are different? How did you get past this with the 4l60e? Anything helps, thanks

If you have a 99-2000 6L you're going to have difficulties putting a 60e behind it due to the long crank snout.

i just got sick of trying to find custom parts and got a 4l80e. wasnt a whole lot of work and from what everyone says its well worth it in the end. im almost done with everything now and it only took a week of working on it here and there to get it done.
