    5.3 ecsb v.s. 4.8 rcsb

ok, so me and my friend decided to race, his truck is a bone stock 2003 5.3 ecsb 4x4 and my truck is a 2006 4.8 5 speed with the ram air intake from volant and a dual exhaust, it had a surprising outcome to me, how it went down was that he got me off the line (about a cars length) and then at about 60 mph i got a huge pull on him and beat him by 2 car lengths, my top speed was 95 and his was 85. any one know why i had such a huge pull on him only at the end?

    Gearing, weight.
He pulled you at the launch for the sane reasons.

3.23's in mine v.s. 4.10 in his 33's on his v.s my 30's? lol i also couldn't get any traction when i launched. kept spinning the tire haha. i just found it odd that when every one asks what i have they laugh and say it sucks and ANY 5.3 will beat it.

was prolly alot closer than you think, cus judging by the speeds, you guys prolly went a little further than the 1/4. but yes gears and wieght are the obvious reasons.

4.8 has a short stroke crank and mekes its power up top while a 5.3/6.0 has the tq advantage of a longer stroke crank.

yeah the road is 1/4 mile from the starting point the braking point. they used to have street drag events on that street. judging by our speeds have any idea about the time range we are in?
