    Stay stock or swap heads?

alright i have a cammed 5.3 with stock 706 heads and i plan on trading my heads for my friend's Dart pro series I heads,

I believe 706's have 61ish cc chambers and I'm pretty sure his have 62 cc chambers

My question, Is it worth it to do the swap and trade a small bit of compression for better flow? I dont really feel like waiting to have these heads milled, so they go on as is.

BTW, Im staying N/A and I'm putting a 100-150 shot on it soon, and im almost sure the intake runners on the Dart heads are 225cc maybe not?

    my mods are
    220 cam
    lt's
    boltons
    small stall, gears

IIRC series one has 205cc intake runners however those should be far superior to stock flow especially come time for the spray. The loss of compression should be nearly unnoticeable. I think that is a great trade considering those heads cost 600+ each new.

how much do you think i would gain? with that compression it almost seems like a waste to Not boost it instead of using N20

The drop in compression would be right at 0.1:1 which I dont think would be noticable.

I say go for it. Even if you decide that you dont like them you could probably have your 706 heads worked, maybe milled and toss those back on and sell the Darts.

Significantly more I think. There really is no way to know other than do a back to back dyno comparrison with the stock heads and some milled heads to get the compression up.
