    285/60/17

Is anyone running a 285/60/17 tire? Does anyone know if they will work OK on a stock 7.5" rim?

I recently noticed that my truck has a bad toe-out condition and has ruined 2 of my tires. I rotated them to get me by, but I'm in the market for tires. I really want to run Michelin 265/65/17's, but I really can't afford the Michelins at this time. I also can't afford to get some 20's either.

I've seen a couple guys here running 275/60/17's on stock rims. I'm just not sure the 285's will work OK.

I run 285/60-18's on my truck. Im not 100% positive on the width of the Titan wheels, but I think they are 7.5" as well.

With 37" tires you have a lot of side wall to absorb the narrow wheel.
    37" tire
    - 17" wheel
    =20" of side wall
/2 = 10" to go from wide to narrow

with a 285/60r17 you would only have 6.5", so you make the call

It'll fit but wears funny, I had 285/50/16s on rears and they wore funny no matter how much pressure I kept in them!
