SPeedy's here in Owensboro, Ky finally had a Dyno Day so naturally I joined in. My stock 5.3 other than a K%N FIPK and exhaust put down 220rwhp@4800 and 255.9ft/lbs@4100...I was pretty pleased considering a Hemi went before me and put down 202 rwhp and an 04 Ford 5.4 went after me and put down 192.....i was impressed w/ my truck, the warranty is up in 16000 miles..after that.....

Those are good numbers for basically a stock engine, those Hemi's lose a ton of power through their drivetrain!

After all that garbage dodge talked about the new hemi, it barelly crossed the 200 mark? How pathetic! The 5.4 only made 192hp thats terrible just terrible. I used to have some respect for them but now I think the only coold trucks out there besides GM's are the lightning and the SRT-10. Today you can put a LS1 in an old chevy and good set of gears and you will still roast them as well thought. So Chevy rules hands down, balls to the wall.
Had a 91 SB, Open diff, 3.08 gears, stock LS1/T56. 14.8@95.9...sold.
Now, 90 C1500 350tbi/NV3500....just bought a 5.3...need T56, Swap parts.....

This is wierd, your numbers seem right on BUT, Hemis have been putting down 265-275 to the wheels and the Ford's have been around 240. Just seems a little fishy, what kind of Dyno, where was it Dynoed at? Even the old 360s put around 200-215 to the ground.....

I don't see how you come to that conclusion, there is something off with those numbers. I see you are running 14.8s aith your LS1/T-56. Stopck Hemis have hit 14.8-15.0s and no swap needed. The F-150s are way too porky for their power to show though. The titans are pretty mean too, seen mid 15s from them, and remember they offer no regular cab version. I love the GM trucks, but it's not worth belittling other trucks that run as well or better (OK, the non Lightning F-150s are pretty sad, but you get the point).

That 14.8 on the LS1/T56 combo must be way traction limited. With 95.9MPH you would be into the low 14's high 13's if you could get traction. Hell I'm all stock LS1/auto and I run 13.8's @ 99MPH or better all the time.

I agree, you also have about 1000 on the Hemi too, those suckers come in over 5000 pound for a regular cab, that's insane!

hehehe, i like em, but don't want to fork over the Cash. If I was going for a Dodge, i;'d get a 98-04 Dakota R/T. They are pretty mean trucks stock and take to mods quite well, but i don't want to do the same exact truck as my bro, so I am looking for a LS1 truck.

Ok so maybe I did go a lil overboard, I was just going off of what kaotic said. Now about my 14.8, I did a swap cuz my truck was a V6. It also has an open diff and 3.08 gears. By the time I shift into 3 Im about 1 second away from finish line (1/4 mile that is). So like GMC I am traction challenged, but the truck will run low 13's with a posi, 4.10's and a pair of drag radials (or maybe high 12's).

However just like us there are some other fast swaps out there. I've seen a ranger with a 302 running 13's but never a dodge representative. Is whatever floats your boat, as long as it has a V8 is got potential.
