    1993 2500, 6.5 Turbo Diesel in Houston

I had big plans to make my white truck a trailer queen several years ago but young kids have me reprioritizing....

For sale: 1993 Chevy Truck, 2500, regular cab, long bed, 6.5 turbo diesel, 4l80e, 2wd. 199,500 miles.

$5,900/obo. PM for additional information/contact information. Houston area (Sugar Land).

Cut and Paste from my autotrader ad:

Very well maintained truck. Purchased by me two years ago to trailer a drag car. I have gone through the truck front to back and replaced or had replaced everything necessary to make this a very reliable work truck. The following parts are new or have less than 7000 miles on them: stock injectors, glow plugs, turbo, lift pump, autometer boost, egt and transmission temp mounted on pillar, bilstein HD shocks, front and rear brakes, master rebuild kit on rear end, limited slip (posi) unit, driveshafts, 4 inch exhaust from turbo back and crossover pipe from Heath Diesel, spray-in bedliner, window tint, battery cables, fluidamper harmonic balancer and belt pulley, serpentine belt and belt tensioner, CDR valve, wheel balance and alignment, and current on all scheduled maintenance. All receipts available along with GM service manuals. Truck runs and rides very smooth. Pulls strong. You can find 6.5s for less but you will generally need to put $2000 to $3000 minimum into them to get them in top shape. I have already done that for you. Truck needs nothing and is ready to go to work. Cosmetic flaws include some cracks in the dash and clear coat flaking off in spots. I will hate to see this truck go but just don’t need it anymore.

Truck pulled great with a car/truck and car hauler trailer. I got 12-14 with 4:10s. A little more if I kept it at or under 65 mph. I seriously hated to see the truck go. The 6.5s cant keep up with a duramax but they can get the job done for a lot less money. You do need to be careful though as they have a number of problem areas (PMDs on 94+ models, broken cranks due to bad balancer, overheating). This can all be remedied though if you understand the 6.5's quirks. The Diesel Place has a great 6.5 forum. Check out the stickies before you buy.
