haha, you're gonna get a lot of debate on that one. i for one prefer turbo, but both can be very expensive.

i have a 6000 lb. truck with a stock 5.3 that is supercharged, i have had no major issues minus the trans. going boom and im happy with it, for now. to get a n/a 6.0 to move the truck like the blown 5.3 i would have spent way way more cash and imo it would have been less reliable and fuel efficent. i have lined up with single cab 2wd 1500 hd's running 6.0's with light mods (cold air, exhaust, and what not) that have 4.10 gears vs. my heavier 4x4 with 3.73 gears and they see nothing but my tail lights. imo turbocharge your 5.3 and work out the bugs and get your driveline straight then do the 6.0L swap when you get bored of or blow up the 5.3, plus its a lot cheaper to learn about boost on a less expensive 5.3. have fun with the build.

and ya it will beat a hemi.
