    LQ4 with 862 cam suggestions

I am not the brightest when it comes to knowing the biggest or the better to go with nitrous. I will be using a stock block to start with my 862 heads, 7.4 pushrods and will purchase the double springs for a good lift. Just not sure if the biggest is the best for nitrous nor whats the biggest lift possible for this combo. Any help would be appreciated.

Why 862's? Are they ported? Just pick the best N/A cam for your setup. You don't have to worry about nitrous cams until you're spraying big shots. I would get a 228 cam, like this one on ebay: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...=STRK:MEWAX:IT

You could, but you don't have good heads or stall to compliment it. For the MS3/4, I suggest you get at least 243's with a valve job and a 3600 stall.

I will look at getting some of those heads. I thought the 862's would be great for the compression.

Yea, the 862's jack the compression up pretty good, but they flow less than the stock heads. And with a big cam like you want, the more flow the better. I don't know what your budget is, but a set of ported 243's or aftermarket heads and a 3600-4000 stall would make that truck hella fast.
