    New project

I dont have a ton of extra parts sitting around.. but i have a Late model 07/08 5.3L core with a Lifter noise.. I plan to Pull the heads to change Cam,lifters,pushrods.... Anything special about these motors?... how much compression do they come with? and how much nitrous/boost can they take?

9.9 comp if I remember correctly. Make sure you do the whole DOD delete (lifters, trays, LS2 Valley cover, oil pump).

you dont have to switch trays but they do fit a little loose if you dont so id recommend it, also the DOD valley covers suck up oil for some reason giving you a low oil pressure reading and also eventually leads to stuck lifters, this is a 1st hand expieriance so def switch to an ls2 valley cover.

I was about to say... you do need to because of the oil pressure and collapsed lifters lmao. I could have told you that about Chris's before all the trouble he had if I'd have known you didn't swap the tray and oil pump.

The DOD oil pump has about 30% better output than the regular pump. The issue with this is it sucks the pan try and leaves a lot of oil up top in the motor. DOD lifters can't handle the lift of an aftermarket cam and are very prone to failure if not replaced. Trays also have to be replaced because the lifters are different.

I think you should put a D1sc on it and max it out with an 8-rib conversion.

However, you're already talking bs and the truck is on jack stands, lol.
Get it on the track, run some respectable times, then say "to all the haterz" because that vid is weak lol.
You got a long ways to go to compete with the turbos!

Go turbo and be done with it.
