    05 swb v6 5spd to v8 conversion? what parts?

i'm about to get 2005 chevy swb with a 4.3 5-speed manual. i read the v6 to v8 sticky, but it's mostly for auto trans trucks and didn't answer all my questions. i would like to keep the DBC. my question is what will i need to swap to a 6.0? i know the 5-speed trans is weak but will it bolt up? does anyone sell a wiring harness swap? i know that this question has been beat to death a million times, but any info will help. thanks

Here ya go, my thread - What's needed to make an auto harness jive with a 5speed the way GM did it.

And yes the trans will bolt up with a V8 flywheel and clutch, and it's a hell of a lot easier to go DBW, keeping the DBC will be a nightmare

and for my thread, just click my sig pic - running a 5.3/NV3500 in my 99.
and if you're already DBW, just keep it. it will be a lot less hassle.
as for the harness, i got one with my engine & had Current Performance Wiring work it for my manual.
also, grab a flywheel off a 4.8 & a strong clutch (i hear centerforce has a good setup).

if you're plannin on making some real power (and are 2WD), you might wanna consider a T56 swap while you're in there.

edit: crap! i forgot the v6 trucks are all DBC... you'll need to talk with sleeper on that one

The DBW conversion is the biggest hang up of the swap

would it be easier to get a v8 auto truck and convert it to a manual trans?

it'd be easiest to just get a 4.8/5 speed & swap the engine out for something bigger
