I didn't see where it cost $8k. For that price it should win best in paint at any show it goes to.

well I got them to paint the tailgate handle and bezel so that looks good, waiting on the molding and the new rear windows to finish drying before they detail it and I get it back!

I know what it cost me to do all the body work and paint on my 69... and it was ROUGH ROUGH ROUGH.

It was less than 8k, but then again, I paid cash money up front.

I don't think you understand... I had literally 2 months worth of labor in my 69. I'm not talking about here and there either. I'm talking about a solid 2 months of working on it every day. Maybe its the labor price there, maybe it's the shop, but I think you could have gotten a better deal. It's your dime though.

For reference... both of these paint jobs (including major body work such as replacing floors in the Nova and floors, cab corners, rockers, and A pillars in the 69) were under 8k. You should have seen the vehicles before.

I know it's your money, and your decision, but I'm just trying to help. Like everyone is saying, you are paying way to much.

This job was done in Texas and was just over $5000:
Another Paint Job - GMFullsize Forums

$8000 is roughly ~80 hours of labor(@$80/hour) plus the materials cost which shouldn't be over ~$1000 all things considered.

If you don't want to hear it, then I'll shut up, but we're just trying to help you. That job shouldn't cost more than $4000. Think about that. You would have an extra $4000 to put a turbo in.
