    Question Thermostat help

    Everything I read says the thermostat/water outlet neck must be replaced as a single piece. A 160* is $61 but at work we have a Mr Gasket special order for $13.49. The thing is, the Mr Gasket brand is only the thermosat and not the housing. Any way to make that work? Website says it is for "newer" LS motors with a seperate thermostat and housing. Could the housing be switched for a newer one and thermostat?

    the 04+ has the removable t stat, the -04 has the one piece.

    ....and all GM replacement pumps are 04+ style so it depends on if the pump has been replaced. Since it's a common failure, it's likely.
