I went to MTI Saturday with a couple other trucks for a dyno day. I was expecting my truck to put down abut 230-240rwhp. My truck was the first to be put on the dyno. The tech tries one pull in 2nd gear and I guess it didn't look good. Well he tells me they are going to try it in 3rd gear. Well my truck put down 257rwhp/285rwtq. I was way surprised by how much my truck put down. I walked away with a smile on my face.

I think they usually charge $70-75 for 2 pulls but I only paid $45/2pulls.

RPM, Real Performance Motorsports, in Lewisville gives you three pulls for $50.00 North Texas Dragway had free dyno pulls all evening Saturday with your $15.00 race fee. Too damn bad my truck is sitting in the driveway all smashed up or I would have been there. They had the turbo diesel drag racing club there Sunday. I wished I would have been there to see them run. Some of those trucks are super fast!!!

Great numbers, sounds like you have a good one!

When I got my dyno, I had a superflow tech come out and explain everything to me, and teach me the software and how they calculate the HP/TQ.
I asked him if 2nd gear differs from 3rd, he said "no". He showed me why and we proved it as well.
I'm not sure if this is different on a Dynojet, but on a superflow, it was proven they put out the same numbers.
I make all my pulls in third as well, it's just what i'm used to.

Keep up the good numbers, with a nice cam, you'll be approaching 300 in no time!!!

    later,

    allen

    Thanks guys.

I am still planning an exhaust for my truck. Next I will start beefing up the tranny; TQ, shift kit, servos, etc. After all that, I will get a cam.
