    Film from adhesive remover...

After removing my door moldings, there seems to be a film that is attracting dust like crazy there. I don't know if its from the adhesive remover pulling the wax off or just leaving an oily film. You can't touch the film really, only see it. Does anyone have any idea what I can use to take this off? I can get pictures in the daylight if that helps anyone.

I've put it through the wash 2-3 times. I guess it's time to put some elbow grease into it.

That would be "the ghosting". The clear is higher and cleaner than the sorrounding area it's not a film. A fix would be getting the elbows greasy by cleaning (not washing) or compounding. You can do it by hand or get someone to do it by machine. I'm too picky to advocate the second option.

If you get it fixed by a body shop THOROUGHLY inspect for rotary buffer swirls/holograms in direct sunlight and look from different angles.
Or it could look worse than before. My brother ought to know from getting his smoker vents taken offt.

Sounds like you want to do it yourself. I've heard meguiars new scratchX2.0 and a foam applicator is good at fixing ghost defects. Use as directed and top it off with some wax when it's fixed.

If it's going to need a buff and wax, I know a guy lol. 50 bucks for a full detail. I'll call him Monday morning.

After looking at it today, I don't think this is the "ghosting" you're talking about. I can see where the adhesive remover ran down the side a little. It's definitely a film of sorts.

Wouldn't recommend wheel and tyre cleaner on paint.

It is harsh but you wash it off right away with the soap, use it all the time for bugs on the front end
