lets talk about a good starter tig welder

I am looking for a good starter (ie sub $1000) tig welder, this is going to be for home and primarily used for alm. The type of things i plan on using it for are intake manifolds/oil pans/overflow tanks/stand off fuel cells for n20 and maybe a full size fuel cell. the front runner in my search is the eastwood ac-dc tig 200 welder

i have used/owned eastwood tools in the past and have been satisfied. are there any other tig welders i should be aware of?

i bought a Miller Maxstar 150 STL its for stick and TIG its great i use it to practice tig welding carbon steel 4 inch sch80 pipe at home i also use it to weld stick rod youll need an argon tank lol here u go this is the one i bought you will have a complete kit for tig welding it works flawless ive had mine since 2008

This is what I use. I've had no problems with it. Dont just get a DC machine you cant do Alum with DC. Buy a AC DC machine you will thank me later.

Spend the money once. Buy a Miller. Most large dealers should be able to get you this http://www.millerwelds.com/products/...p?model=M00325 for about $1300.

I have NEVER had a single issue with any Miller product, off brands can be a nightmare. However I have a ThermalArc MIG, it's a Texas owned company but it was built overseas. It's a very simple, but stout unit. And I love it. You may want to check them out.

X2. Go ahead and buy a Miller and have yourself a good welder for the rest of your life. That's all my family has ever bought and we use them a lot when working on farm equipment. We do have a Hobart MIG, but Miller puts it out. I cannot think of one negative thing we have ever said about them.

Lincoln is good, too. Just always used Miller. Just buy a good quality one and you'll be satisfied.
