    C0265 - EBCM relay circuit

    Hello,

    I have a 2000 silverado 5.3L w/ just over 100K mi.

For the past several months, both my ABS and red brake light illuminate on the instrument panel while driving....both light up at the same time. I had the code read and it reported back C0265, EBCM relay circuit open.

I read the technical service bulletin and re-did the ground located on the frame rail underneath the driver's side, but no luck...the lights came back on.

I also swapped out my tuned PCM with the factory one I kept and the lights still came back on.

The problem is intermittent...sometimes I'll drive for hundreds of miles and it never comes on or sometimes they remain lit up when I first start up my truck.

Any other ideas to try besides replacing or rebuilding the EBCM?

I found a company that rebuilds certain models.

ModuleMaster rebuilds ABS modules for as low as $100, 2 day average turn-around, 5 Year Guarantee

    Thanks.

    EBCM 99.999999999999999999999999999999999999% of the time.

A new one is $500-1100. Good luck.

I bought one for my Blazer at 189K miles for $35 off eBay and no issues now at 215K. It was used. The only difference is that C0265 is very common on that vintage pick up and not common at all on the Blazers.

I went with the rebuild...ran about $130, 5-day turn, comes w/ a 5yr. warranty, and they had a kit to replace the torx screws with SS allen head screws. Been installed for a few weeks now and so far so good.

My C0265 is intermittent, and seems to be non-existent in the winter, but pretty consistent in the summer. Does this still point to the EBCM? I have no problem sending it in, but the intermittent part is what cofuses me. I would have thought if something was wrong in the board, it would be bad 24-7-365 and not work when the temp is cooler.
And yes I checked the ground and re-cleaned it, pretty sure it is OK.
...andC0265 is the only code I am getting
    thanks
