You need to post a whole lot more about what you have on the truck, what your plans are, how far you wanna go, what kind of truck it is, forced induction or no, and while you're at it.....post in the newbie welcome section. Maybe you did. Sorry if so.

    BTW, welcome to LS1truck.

A higher LSA will give you a more stock like idle. A lower one will give you a choppy idle. Lower LSA also give a peaky power curve, where as a higher LSA typically gives a more flat/gradual power curve.

YouTube - 4.8 silverado cam 110 lsa aka low LSA

    YouTube - GTO LS2 gt2-3 cam aka higher LSA 117-118.5 I think.

    10 lsa aka low LSA

    Yes. Well said Jeffy. The GT2-3 is a 207/220 573/.580 118.5 LSA.

Ok, well another thing we need to mention is the advanced timing that can be ground into the cam. Advanced timing will have the power come in sooner and give you better TQ numbers.

If I were you (and ordering a custom Comp cam from TSP), I would look at something along the lines of a 216/220 .561/.564 112 +3 LSA.

It's really a dumb idea to pick an LSA based on idle sound or on no information given by the OP but whatever floats your boat G

The lower the LSA, the lower the power band is in the RPMS also.

Here is a good read on LSA and cam cam design in detail.
    ***CAM GUIDE*** - PerformanceTrucks.net Forums
Info on springs and cam application is also included. Its a very good read.
