    Molitor 02' rcsb Silverado(base)

I had 4k lying around and said, what the heck, i'll buy a gen3 truck.
Shortly there after, i sold my 98 k2500, and set off building my daily driver.
I'm starting with an 02' rcsb silverado. base model. when i say base, i mean it
Steel ralley wheels, manual windows, manual doors, no cruise, ac was an afterthought, cloth interior, vinyl floor, arctic white. Luckily it was a v8 model and not the 4.3l. I ended up with a lr4 4.8l that either has bad lifters or a flat cam lobe. But it still gets 24mpg on highway, no idea how. coming soon. . . homemade upgrades. . .

Well I finally started to work on the 370ci build.

It all started with a $200 03' 2500HD 6.0L donor engine. After a major fire in the engine compartment the intake manfold and front cover were both melted sufficiently to form indiscernable blobs on the block. I stripped it down only find the engine had 3 inches of water in the cylinders and oil pan from the fire department hosing this truck to put out the fire.

The crank was still in great shape and the cylinder walls needed help. So $300 worth of boring and honing brought the cylinders to 4.030''. I spent $540 dollars on SpeedPro Powerforged Ceramic Coated Flat Top pistons with floating pins and Moly Rings.

I spent another $75 and bought brand new set of GMPP I-Beam rods with bushings and chromemoly 180kPSI rods bolts.

Another member was kind enough to furnish a brand new LS2 HD timing chain as well. (Thanks Duct_Tape)

As for the camshaft its a Mahle Performance Camshaft. specs are: 223/223 (@ .050) ..566''/.566'' 114LSA

For the induction end I decided to go with GMPP LS3 cylinder heads which are $375ea. from http://www.SDparts.com

To top that I picked up a pull-off 08 L92 Truck Intake complete with injectors, rails, cover, but no TB. I opted out of the TB since it was originally electronic on the 08' truck. I plan to use either and LS2 Cable TB, or make and adapter for f-body to ls2 throttle bodies.

The Shortblock is all assembled, and as soon as the cam gets here, i'll get that installed.

Tomorrow I'm going to pick up a new project. A guy at work has graciously decided to give me a 92' Chevy Silverado, ECSB equiped with a worn out 350 SBC and a 4l60e with no 3rd gear. I just have to pick it up.

So I got my new project home finally, pics to follow. The body is flawless except for flaking paint. It has a tired SBC TBI 5.7L/4l60E combo with no compression and a non existent 3rd gear. I'm nearly finished with my 370ci build nd i'm seriously considering keeping my daily driver intact with the 4.8L and throwing the 370 in this project truck.

Wow I wish people would give me vehicles haha Good luck man sounds like it will be a lot of fun. IMHO put the 370 in the '02 and build something with more cubes for the 92. No matter what it will be awesome once it joins the LS family.

Here are photos of the truck after I got it home. The 370ci is tucked away in the tin shed behind it. Its completely straight throughout the whole body. The bumpers are crap, but the rest will be easy.

I'm planning to do an LS swap with a standalone harness, rebuild the 4l60e and control it with a TCM and shift it with a Cadillac STS stick shifter with standard pattern and a ratchet shift option. Paint colors will be graphite and candy red accents with some pinstriping. And i'm not sure about wheels yet. It has 5 lugs hubs, so unless I can switch to six lug, they'll have to be custom wheels and not some factory Chevy 20s.

So...thats where i'm at so far.

Oh! and a 94 Grille Upgrade with a frenched driving light bumper.
