    I think my problem is electrical.....

    I know this is one of my bugs after my engine swap, but once in a while, my engine will bog out real bad for a few seconds and will keep doing it no matter how much throttle you give it. And then after it dies, you have to let it sit for at least 20 minutes before it fire again. Also, it smells rich like gas. I know I don't know alot about these engines yet but it seems like something bonehead that I'm just missing. My dad thinks its wiring and a friend thinks its a bad MAF. So questions and suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    when it does that pull your front O2's. If it clears up you have clogged cats.

    maybe bad fuel pressure regulator.

    Hmm....maybe but it's brand new. Only like a month old.

    Just an in-line electric fuel pump wired through the factory 2000 GM fuse panel. It's set up to run like a factory in tank fuel pump, primes the injectors when you turn the key on. Hooked the plumbing up from the factory 84 Chevy lines to the pump and up to the factory 2000 fuel regulator.

    Yeah mixing new and old technology. I know its probably not the best idea but it's still in the experimental stages. It's a Hypertech fuel pump and it pushes 162 LPH. The stock feed line on my 84 looks to be a 3/8" from eyeballing it. From that 3/8" line it goes to a rubber 5/16" line, into the fuel pump, then out into another 3/8" line, then up into the regulator.

    Although it does say it puts out 125 psi, it was checked with a gauge on the system for 3 hours and it sat dead on at 50 psi.
