Don't mean to steal the tread, but I kinda have the same problem, but not as bad. If I wind up putting my 2004 GTO LS1 in my 2004 Silverado 4.8L, I'll have a throttle body problem. The LS1 has a cable tb, my Silverado has a dbw tb. Can I still use my stock Silverado computer and retune it and get a BBK or Corvette dbw tb. And if I'm correct, on the wiring, is the fuel injector pigtails the only thing I have to change?

a motor has no idea if it has a GayBW or a cable. so if you drop a ls1 in the truck then just use the trucks TB since its the same size anyways

It is real easy to do. Shouldn't take but about 30 minutes.
