Who knows all the details in swapping in a LT1 into my 92 2WD sierra. If I have a LT1 and 4L60E what is needed to put them as far as mounts, A/C, wiring, and any other problems that I might run into.

Search past issues for this conversion. I had changed my 92 XC C1500 from a 4.3L to a Corvette LT1. It was easy. Get the Painless wiring. What year of engine? 92 and 93 had speed density and you don't have to mess with MAF sensors. Corvette accessories work best. Camaro accessories will have to be replaced or the frame will need to be notched.

So basically I find a 92 to 93 corvette LT1 and call Painless tell them what I am doing then they will send me the wiring. After that the LT1 and 4L60E will just bolt right up.
How do things like power steering pump, A/C, accessories hook up? Do all the fitings and legths of hose reach to the truck's factory positions?
Did you install a 700R4 or a 4L60E?

get the power steering hoses from the vette and they will hook up to the C1500. All the vette accessories will be used in stock configuration, a simple plug and play. You'll need electric fans though since LS1 has no provision for driving a fan. I used a 5 speed in mine so the transmission was definitely no problem. I believe you have to get a harness from painless specifically for the auto trans. I don't believe a 4l60e option was available in 92 and 93, you'll have to step up a couple years for the 4l60e. I bit more research would be advised and I would call Painless and talk to their tech support people for specific applications. As for putting the engine in and doing any difficult work, there just isn't any to be done. Hooking up the wiring is the toughest part. You just have to remove the parts of the old harness you no longer need and wire in the new harness and you're ready to go. It was definitely an easy conversion. Oh, you'll need a fuel pump from a '93 vette to replace the one in your fuel tank. I got mine from Autozone and they provide a lifetime warranty, worth it's weight in gold. You will have to modify the fuel lines to fit the vette connectors, nothing a few feet of fuel injector hose and a few clamps won't remedy. The fuel connectors, push on types, can be picked up at pep boys if you didn't get the fuel lines from the donor car. The throttle cable I used was from a 95 Impala SS, simple hook up. I don't remember if I got the cruise cable from a camaro or the impala but one of the two worked great, just get the longer of the two. If it comes down to it I can get the pn on the cruise cable for you. The throttle cable went with the vette engine I sold tonight so I don't have the number for it any more.
