    Cleaning Heads?

I am fixing to start cleaning my heads off the 5.3 going in my truck and was wondering what chemicals to use? I have a parts washer and we usually use mineral spirits but wondering if something else would be better.

Brake cleaner and a rough rag works pretty good...maybe even one of those flat blue/green scrub pads.

Pressure wash is a great idea. I don't think theyd hurt anything.

go to O'Rielly's auto part an buy the 6 pack of brake cleaner. trust me you will need it. That stuff works awesome. As Moze said, an maybe Kurt will chime in, about the blue scape pad he used to clean stuff.. it works nicely.

Yall are doing to much work, just go to Wal-mart and get some heavy duty easy off oven cleaner (yellow can), spray it on the heads and use a tooth brush to get into any nooks and crannys , let it sit for about 10 minutes then just wash it off. You will be left with a bare aluminum head that looks BRAND new!!
