Sweet I still have an active account!

I apologize for not being around but I have been insanely busy. Anyways thanks for telling me about the mounts although I believe my shop already has those done. However that is about all that I think they have done. I was told that it would be running before winter but haven't heard jack from them and haven't had time to deal with it. I would kill for a vacation right now!

However on a better note the 78 Bronco that I am building (myself) is coming along nicely. But sh!t does that 400 cube motor eat gas!

Going to buy yourself one of those wind-up clown cars to get around in for a while? Honda, Toyota and Nissan are all in the electric clown car business pretty strong right now. People are standing in line to buy them now that gas is over $2 a gallon. I say all the power to them, more gas for me and my gas hog!!!

Yeah, I read that in order for those hybrid cars to be worth the price, you either need to drive around 65,000 miles a year or gas needs to be about $10 a gallon.

What's the status on this??? I'm doing the exact same swp in my '86 C10. I should have the 5.3, 4L60E, wiring, PCM, and all accessories on tomorrow. Would be nice to know exactly what I need.

My old 4.3, th350, and accessories have been pulled, and sit in the bed of the truck. May part out what I don't need. Someone gimmie a yell back?!?!

    TTT...

For my '86 swap from 4.3L V6 to 5.3L V8, I needed the frames brackets from an 81 - 87 Chevy w/ a V8 motor (junkyard special - $50 total). Those bracket holes were slotted by 1/2" upward for smooth mounting of the 5.3L. Chevy 350ci motor mounts w/ BRP conversion plates are needed to mount the 5.3L in the truck. I found this out first hand when things didn't fit right. Hopefully this weekend will be different. The TH350/400 trans will mount to the 5.3L. I hear the 700R4 do as well, but don't quote me.

I've got the 5.3 / 4L60E / PCM / All accessories / engine harness. All that'll be left after this weekend is move the trans mount forward, change the fuel feed line, implement a 340LPH fuel pump, graft the NBS wiring into my OBS wiring, radiator, e-fans, and UDP. A/C compressor hook-ups to be made right before summer. Rear end will have to wait on additional funds.

Check out the LS1 Conversions forum for the 5.3 (LM7) thread. I posted a pic of the 5.3 mounted in the OBS '86 C10. Man, I'm happy-go-lucky!
