T56 swap can it be done

I was wondering if a LS1 T56 would bolt up to my 5.3 my truck is a 2006 2wd, has anyone attempted doing this swap. I have seen it on older trucks but how about newer one

Should bolt right up if you get the LS1 flywheel along with the transmission.

I think Nelson Performance has done (or finished) a couple of these swaps.

It'll work so long as it's a T56 from another LSx. LT1 T56s have different bellhousing depths.
