ok i got the v6 out and am currently in the process of putting in the 5.3...the motor mounts look to be in the wrong location...the engine is bolted to the trans and it seems that the engine needs to go back about 1.5 inches for the mounts to line up...anyone else had this prob...i am using the mounts for the 5.3...the engine is from an 02 and my truck is an 02 any help would be appreciated...oh and i also need a EVAP solenoid...if anyone has one...thanks
You just have the wrong mounts. It took me like 3 or 4 tries to find the right ones. I put up some part numbers in the threads from my swap and they should be the same. 99-02. It took me a few days to find the right ones. Luckily the parts manager down here at the dealership was a real big help and got me the right ones. They werent too expensive either

ya ye just gotta find the right 1s ,mine came out of a van when i bought my motor,they looked identical,but they say about 2 inches high and didnt find out until i had it in .lol.its always something ,the headaches are just beginning,good luck

check your pms banker. those are just the motor mounts, you need the frame mounts as well. like ramsey said make sure they came out of the 1500 trucks. If yours is a 4wd then get 4wd ones, if not get 2wd.

there is an 02 HD that had a 6.0 in the junkyard...do they have the same frame mounts?
got the EVAP solenoid...if anyony else needs one they have them at rockauto.com for about $20...its listed under emissions
i already got the evap solenoid and fuel line...actually i should have everything i need now....got the frame mounts from an 03 1500 with the 4.8 and looks like they are gonna line up. ...should have the truck running by this weekend....then ill post up some pics and maybe a burnout vid....if i can justify burning up 22 in tires...or 1 tire anyways...lol
