So true, that 100k+ unit wore out. Now I have a fresh one that has been taking a beating so far. Theres nothing like breaking them in right.

Worst case, you'll have to get your driveshaft cut, but we did just do a 408/80 in a regular cab and the shop put on a longer slip yoke, never heard of that before, but the shaft went right in and no cutting required.

I'm in the same boat. I'm going to be swapping in a 4L80E into my RCSB and can't find any info on the driveshaft length.

Right now, it looks like I'll be cutting 6" out of my stock shaft unless someone tells me otherwise.

Don't cut anything until you measure the difference in transmission lengths measured from the bellhousing to the output shaft end. Also, be sure you get a splined slip joing type output shaft, not the one that bolts on. There are two different ones and you won't know the difference unless you take the tail housing off or have a long slip yoke to slide on it before you buy it. They both are tapped for a bolt.

I did the 80e swap in my RCSB you will only need a shorter slip yoke to make the drive shaft work and you can get it online pm me if you need more info.

What size fitting did you use to convert the hard line to the AN fitting?

For those that are comfortable cutting and splicing wires or re-pinning a connector, you can do this method instead of spending the extra coin for a conversion harness. You'll still need the harness for the second VSS, but this takes care of the main round harness that plugs into the side.
