    Thanks buddy,

I'm actually going to send the converter off and get it tightened up. I ordered a 2800 stall, but under mid throttle, the rpms stay at 3000-3200rpms and I can get about 3400rpms during a brake stall.

I'd like to have a true 2800stall in there.

Hey Allen, how much are those adaptors to run the 4L80E with the stock 4L60E harness??

And do you still have to go in and change the PCM to 4L80E?

You won't beat his price for the adapter. yes, you'll have to get the tune overlayed with an 80e tune for the transmission. PM Allen and Melissa and they'll fix you up.

Thanks Red, you pretty much answered it.

The 80e conversion harness is $89.

Yes, you'll need the pcm setup for an 80e or the trans will not shift right.

    thanks,
    allen

I actually wanted to post this incase anyone had the same issue.
From the day I installed the transmissoin and the truck was drivable, the converter was doing wierd things. The trans would shift just fine, then the converter would lock up after fourth just like its supposed to. BUT, when I would come to a stop, the converter wouldn't unlock until a 1st gear downshift. This was very annoying and you can imagine how loaded the trans and truck was when trying to accelerate about 30mph, after slowing down.
I tried several calibrations, tons of tuning and couldn't fix it. Chuck suggested I replace the TCC solenoid, I did and now it works. It seems the TCC sol. can lock and work half ass, but not unlock.

I just wanted to post this, it may help someone out in the future.

NOW, the trans and converter are working together great and the truck is awesome!

    later,
    allen
And this might solve my problem, the exact same thing is happening to mine. But where do I get a new tcc sol. and where in the truck is this located at?

    Thanks Allen

Remove the pan, then it's located towards the front of the trans, near the converter.
It's the only solenoid that looks like the new one you'll get, it will only connect to one connector on the internal trans harness.
To remove, get a small pick and remove the snap/retaining ring.
Pull the sol. out and install the new one.

Call FLT. Its their transmission. They should have put a new one in when they built it, right? Now its your responsibility to replace a defective part plus fluid?
