Heres a link to Powertrain Control Systems website, it says they are developing a controller for the 6L80E trans.

PCS - Powertrain Control Solutions - Programmable Electronic Automatic Transmission Controller

I sent them an email to ask if they had an idea of when it might be available.

So is this tranny stronger than the 4L80e? How much HP do you think it will handle?

for now there still aren't any stand alone controllers done. so if you want to use a 6L80E/6L90E you'll want to use a Gen IV engine and ECM.

Talked to FLT yesterday asked if they were working on 6 speed auto technology... The sales rep told me that the controller for these transmissions is integrated into the trans making it ALMOST impossible to retrofit into older vehicles.
