    Drive By Wire Question

I am doing a 6.0L LQ9 Swap into a 98 K1500 Sierra. The engine has a FBW throttle body on it currently but the engine did not come with a pedal or TCM. Should I convert over to a Drive by cable or are there ways to still use the Fly By Wire set up?

Just get a dbw pedal and tac module, and the harness for them. You'll probably have to modify the pedal to clear your trans hump. I used an 05 pedal cause in 06 they went to an all plastic one and it's more difficult to reshape.

Will any pedal and tcm module work? Is there any special set up you have to do to get them to work together?

The pedal and tac module have to kinda match. Like you can't use an 05 pedal with am 06 tac (tried it, don't work!)

Several vendors sell easy plug and play kits for this with everything you need. Just make sure you order the right parts for your year.

Also if you decide to go away from the dbw you will have to add a few pins in your pcm connectors.

Yeah, I figured. I'm having current performance produce my wiring harness so they know that I am going to drive by cable. Hopefully it all works out.
