All bs aside a stock 5.3 makes about 220hp to the wheels, if you manage to get 310-330hp from a cam swap call it a good day.

Yes, a stock 5.3 will make 220. Add a tune, and bolt ons and you can get 250+. Add a cam and over 300hp is pretty reasonable to expect.

Thanks for the info, Im getting the cam and Heads for 1200 installed, I chose that stall with a lil help from Nelson and the shop im getting the stuff from. I plan on driving the truck 500 miles across tx to work 2 times a month. I think if I can get 370 at the Wheels that would be respectable power from the truck and motor combo. Id be happy with that. It will prob leave most trucks at the red light when you want to get in it, so I can live with that.

5.3, LT's, full exhaust, tr220, 2800 stall, built trans, 4.10's got me 330rwhp and 13.6 1/4 mile.
My new iron 5.7 with 11:1 cr with a TSP228 milled 241's and all other mods the same got me down to 13.1. So I'm guessing I'm right around 370-380.
Your planned mods should make it a fun truck.

Should be about the same highway, but you will loose some around town. My best guess 11/16 depending on how you drive.

What tires/gears do you have? I have 265/75/16 and 4.10s and turn 2100ish at 75. I'm getting around 15 city(under 50 mph in stop and go) with everything but a cam.
