After I got that all done, I swapped the 4.10s for some 3.42s and put 6 degree pinion shims to fix the pinion angle. I kept having fuel pump/pickup problems. It kept getting air in the line somehow and kept cavitating. I had the bed off at least 6 times and the pump apart 3 times trying to fix it. Here are some pics of the inards of the pump.

I had been eyeing the aeromotive fuel cells with the built in A1000 pumps since I started the build and I decided to bite the bullet and get it so I would be done with the fuel system and not have to worry about it anymore. It came with a one wire sender that I wouldnt be able to use with my in-dash level gauge so I took the stock one off the bucket, trimmed it to fit in the hole, made a bracket to mount it in the Aeromotive sender location and used the float that came with the Aeromotive one. Here are some picks of the sender fab and some mounted pictures.

Since then I made up some hoses for the two vents and that runs underneath the truck. I also have a MSD 2 step I got from my roommate and at 2900 rpm on the footbrake I can build 6psi so It should rip if the slicks hold which they should. I plan to make a trip to the track soon after a little tuning and see what it does on 9psi. Im thinking it should be bottom 11s as is and I hope to get it into the 10s on pump gas so we shall see.

I didnt do the exact math but I drove little over 300 miles the other day all interstate and I went between 150-175 miles on half a tank. My cell is 20 gallons so if I low ball it thats about 15mpg. Thats cruising at 65mph. I was getting 17mpg at 75mph with the 60e with the lockup converter and 4.10s. Now its no OD, no lockup and 3.42s. But its running a little rich so I can probably get another 1-2mpg out of it. Its steady at 14.3 afr on cruise so I will learn it out to 14.7-15.0 and see what I can get. The slight drop in mpg was way worth the peace of mind and The TH400 ratios matched with the 3.42s is perfect! I beat that c6 vette just rolling into it in 3rd. We went from 70-100 and I just kept pulling!

accounting for 10% converter slippage, a 28'' tire with no growth and the 3.42s I should be able hit 145 easily before hitting the 6800 limiter
