if you can score the two togther (pedal and module). i got mine off eBay
    for $80 for the pair.
one thing to watch out is the compatibility, some TAC modules and pedals
my cause irratic behavior if not matched. i went through three TACs before
finally getting the pedal and TAC from the same donor truck. eith the throttle
was slow, unresponsive, or irratic and unconsistant.

doesnt matter if from a silverado/sierra 4.8/5.3/6.0.. just so they match.

So does the harness have to match or the pedal with the TB? My engine is from an 04 Envoy but the harness is from an 05 Sierra.
So just what is the tac madule and what does it do?
    Thanks.

TAC - Throttle Actuator Control module translates the pedal signal to
a dc motor signal forthe throttle body.

Thanks, that confirms the conclusion I came to while I was sitting in the hot tub. Someonee else had called it a tach box and that really had me going.
So the problem matching that you had, was it the module or the pedal that was in conflict?

Just get matching pedal and module from the same year group (99-02 and 03-06) and you should be fine. I've heard that if you mix and match year groups then that is when you start running into problems.

PCM ===harness=== TAC module ===harness=== Pedal

That is how it is set up.

    thats what i ran into...
using the SSR VIN and programming and a 2003 c2500 TAC and pedal.
all screwed up... changed VIN to 2003 silverado/sierra and viola! el worko!
SSR parts maybe the same, but price is usually higher like that of the
    corvette.

I get all my stuff from a bone yard in Dover Ohio, They know what you need and why you need it . They sort of specialize in late model trucks. Nice guys probably the best organized cleanest bone yard I've ever seen, they deliver for FREE, (Ohio Major Cities) will ship parts too, Mike is the MAN, Cody is good too but Cody has to ask Mike for price breaks, all the guys are good but Mike knows things need to match. The more you buy the cheaper parts get. Wayne Auto Parts call 411.
I told him, Mike that I wanted to do a conversion, We made a deal at a set price for every thing I might need. Every clip bracket line bolt stupid nickle dime PIA part. Cheaper that I was getting quotes on just bare blocks. """When you figure out what you need come and get it or I can send it on the truck"""
I got radiator to fuel pump. Everything Coolant tanks fuse blocks hoses bla bla bla. call them.
