Hey fellas,
Just registered on the site and this is a great section.
Many questions can finally be answered here.

Could someone fill me in on what I would need for the 6.0 from a 5.3 swap would consist of.
Let's say I already have the motor, but what else do I need and how much should I be looking to spend?

I appreciate all the help and replies.

if you do it yourself, id say you could spend less than $500 most of that consisting of a tune. left a little $ in there for odds and ends (wire, clips, tubing, etc)

So can I use my current computer with the 6.0 and just have it remapped?
I just need to have all the wiring and all that for the 6.0 on there right, or can some stuff be used off the 5.3 to the 6.0?

You can use everything from the 5.3. You just have your PCM remaped for the 6.0L. It will run with the 5.3 PCM(computer) but for maxium performance you will need it retuned (remaped).

You will pull the 5.3 and put the intake, balancer, pump and all of the front accessories on the 6.0L.
The swap is pretty easy and everything will bolt right up. No extra parts are needed.
The 5.3 may run ok, but may have some hesitation and not run like it will unless you get the pcm tuned.
You'll need antifreeze, coolant and a filter.

good luck and keep us updated,

I'm also considering the swap. I assume to buy a 6.0 motor from GM direct is a PITA and expensive. Any other suggestions? I would love to be able to have a built 6.0 vs a 5.3 (for high psi radix app's), then bore the heck out of the 6.0

Also, what to go with...There are so many designation I do not know what they are for. LQ9? Is that out of a Caddie? Whats the other, LM7? If someone would mind explaining the differences too I would be MUCHO appreciative.

Thanks!
