I am going to be swapping a 98 camaro ls1 w 4l60e into my 89 chevy rcss c1500. Am im now shopping for parts. Any help would be great. Who should I use to combine my harnesses? Where should I get my motor mounts? Did you guys use cats on your swap? I have no experience welding, but I do own a nice miller mig. I guess know would be a good time to learn. I don't have the time to wire. So anybody have any suggestion???

    Hey flammen,

Good luck on your shopping, hope it goes well.

For you harness, Dynatech can get you squared away,he's a sponsor. I'm not sure if they will merge your existing harness with your new one or just make you a new one, I'm sure it depends on what you're using.
You can make your own engine mounts or mod your existing ones.
I run cats on my truck, I went with the Random cats.
You may need to mod your drive shaft too.

good luck and keep the questions coming,

Thanks for the help. I want to have everything ready so this swap goes really smooth. Yeah right. I'm sure it will be a bumpy road. What do you charge to tune the puter on a 98 camaro ls1?

I can't do 98's yet, but i will soon, i just haven't had anybody ask about it so i haven't bought it.
Maybe by the time you're ready i'll have it,

I charge $350 for a full performance tune, as long as it's not a head/cam or boosted/nos vehicle.

let me know when you're ready, i may just have it,

    Feel free to post away,

doh, now i get two requests for 98's lol, i'm sure i knew that at one time, sleeper,
    i just haven't had any requests for a 98 or 97 tune.

i may look into that for you guys, since there is two of you, i would just have to charge both of you like 800$ a piece, lol, jk

    i'll keep you updated,
