Hey guys,

I've been on performancetrucks.net for a few weeks now and always thought LS1 trucks wasn't more than a section in the LS1 forums lol. Anyway, I've been browsing around for about an hour and looks like a great place in addition to p.t.net to learn and meet new folks (although I see a lot of performancetruck.net goers on here too haha)

    Here's a few pics of my truck. It's a 2006 SCSB Silverado 1LT w/ 5.3l G80 and 3.73's. I just got her about 3-4 weeks ago.

I took her to HRP this past weekend and ran a best of 15.66 @ 86.35 w/ 2.3 60ft off the showroom floor around 600 miles. Weather was humid around 85+ degrees. I was a little dissapointed but..eh what can you do.

Here's a vid of one of the runs, getting raped by a 14 sec. V6 camaro lol (I ran a 15.7 on this run):

Anyway sorry for the long post. Hope to learn a lot here.

Welcome. Nice truck. I like it here much more than at PT.net. Your truck is just barely out of the womb.

Wow, is that a NASCAR influenced teather tying the hood to the engine cowl?

I wondered the same thing when I first popped open the hood lol. I have absolutely no idea what it's purpose is.

I think it is a ground strap. Mine has one too.

    Great starting point. Welcome.

Thanks, I just wish the LQ4 or LQ9 and 4L80E was a factory option in the regular cab lol.

So, it's a ground strap. What on the hood of the truck needs that large of a ground strap?
