Thread: 5 speed standard from 4.3 to a 5.3 swap?

    yep - even the GM parts catalog says the 4.8 & 5.3 clutch stuff was the same, so it'll work.
    00 FRC - just top end, exhaust, and a hot-air intake
    99 Sierra - 5.3 / 5spd

    I ran a nv3500 with a cammed 6.0 4x4. I got a solid 6 months out of it lol. Mine had a 100k on it when i did the swap, so it wasnt fresh at all and it was the stock clutch. But i really dont know how much longer a fresh one would of lasted to be honest. But it was a winter truck so it saw an awful lot of 4x4 in 12" of snow too. Either way it was fun
