Yes you need that harness off of the donor truck. And take it from me, because I am finding out the hard way, contact a reputable shop like Nelson performance to work their magic on it. I went the little guy route and I'm having problems I could have possibly avoiding had I went with them.

Most guys use Shoenfeld longtube headers. I used them and they fit real good. I've heard you can use the stock manifolds if youre on a budget.

Buy Dirty dingo motor mounts. Again, I tried to save money and bought a cheap pair and I had to "modify" my passenger floor pan for the header. The dingos are adjustable. It will be $ well spent.

You can use radiator hoses from a 2000 Silverado. Use your radiator from the 97.

I was told that e-fans from a camaro or trans-am will be ideal.

Use -an fittings for fuel lines the cheap way sucks. I spent more making cheap crap work than if I had just did it the right way. Also, use a Corvette fuel filter.

There is a lot of other little things but read up on this site and ls1tech.com.

check my build thread i just did a 6.0 4l80e swap in my 97 truck, i ended up ripping out the harness for the most part and using a Nelson performance harness, the stock one is pretty useless, i think it CAN be done but its alot more headache going that route.
