228 is. Big cam for a 5.3 and will require a good sized stall to run efficiently. At least 34-3600. I would say a 220 or 224 would be better. What sized truck and what gear ratio does it have? Any other plans such as spray or boost do you have for the build? More details helps a lot when picking a cam. The more we know the more help we canbe.

Oh if it's going in a Nova you can go a little bigger on the cam, but matching a good stall is important.

3400 triple disk would be killer with a 226/230 and some worked 243s milled some and add some 4.8 flattop pistons. Screamer for sure.
