I'm wanting to get a 5.3l complete with computer take stock heads off and change them with a set of 806 heads but if I do that it would lower my compression so I was thinkin maybe run 4.8 pistons and maybe thinner gasket? Good idea?

806 is a 5.3 head. Why change. Newer 5.3 have 243/799 heads with flat top pistons.
806 is actually the early LS1 heads. They aren't anything special. However swapping to 243s and 4.8 pistons would be a great option. Add a good 40hp with a good tune.

241s are about the same. Again going to lower compression with out any significant gains in flow.

228 is. Big cam for a 5.3 and will require a good sized stall to run efficiently. At least 34-3600. I would say a 220 or 224 would be better. What sized truck and what gear ratio does it have? Any other plans such as spray or boost do you have for the build? More details helps a lot when picking a cam. The more we know the more help we canbe.

Oh if it's going in a Nova you can go a little bigger on the cam, but matching a good stall is important.
