    Unhappy boom goes the chevy.....

    blew my motor last night apparently, ran fine no noise last night. came out this morning to start it to let it warm up and heard the lil midget under my hood knocking....

    so anyone have a short block they wanna sell cheap?? lol

    I'm sure the block is fine sounds like a rod bearing. I'll pull the motor next weekend and look at it

    Do you have cats? If you do start their mine sounded like the bottom was coming out of my motor. Beat on them with a hammer while it's running and see if it changes. Just my 2cents I bought a new 5.3 because I thought that's what it was.

    I'll keep that motor in mind I wanna tear mine apart first to see how bad it is

    500 bucks takes my 2010 4.8 shortblock with ls6 cam it has about 22k miles

    before you tear it apart. check your oil if it has metal in it then it is bad. you could possibly have loose converter bolts

    Or cracked flywheel. I thought my motor was toast,knocking real bad. Turned out it was the flywheel. So hopefully thats the case.
