Even if you do get one at the dealership, only corporate HQ can do the work on the clusters. The one in my '04 'Burban stripped the gears. The stealership had it for two weeks (and we had a crappy Montana rental from Enterprise RAC) while they sent the cluster back to Detroit (or where ever) to get it fixed. They said they were not allow to touch the things other than to pull them out. It was all covered under warranty, but it still sucked not having the vehicle.

my cluster has a weird problem too. i had just got the guages replaced due to a recall and they didnt last a 1,000 miles and when i would turn the truck off the info center would light up and start shuffling through the languages, erasing my mileage, or just lighting up my mileage. now its got to the point where it shuffles through languages while im driving and will jump my trip miles up and down and i will have no control over whats going on. pisses me off because i took it back to the dealership and they tell me its out of warranty when its one of their defects thats supposed to be fixed. not really making any sense.

My gauges have moved after the key is off since day one. Everything has worked perfect for over 100k miles. Gauges always go to zero with key on and work perfect while driving. It takes about a minute for mine to move after the key is off.
