Well you know how when valve float happens the motor stops reving and starts popping like it has a jacked up rev limiter?, well my motor did not do that. It reved untill hit hit the rev limiter. I am guessing the valves were seating , just not fast enough, therefore loosing compression down low.

Valve float is valves launching off the nose staying open too long or bouncing multiple times off the seats due to lack of closing control both causing a loss of cylinder pressure, compression is a static measurement....cylinder pressure is dynamic.

    Otter,
Did you ever get the cam / motor squared away? I put a hot cam in my ls1 and it lost power too...
