Spent a lot of time today and made minor progress. Changed the fuel pump, which took much longer than it should have (but doesnt everything seem to?). http://www.ls1truck.com/forums/lsx-t...tml#post360782
Took out all the old engine wiring I knew I wouldnt need. It seems like I still have a lot of wiring left that I probably dont need? If I had a diagram of the firewall plugs I could probably get rid of plenty more. Since most of the wires left just run in between the two firewall plugs I cant tell what they are or where they go so I have just left them alone.
Also cut the fuel lines about 6" from the end and installed rubber fuel injection hose. I will install the rail connectors when I get the 5.3 in so I know the correct length. I agree its probably not the best way to do it but it should work fine.

    Changing the pump...

    Taking out old wiring...

The yellow zip ties are simply temporary. Just so the wires didnt go everywhere when I took off the loom.
    More pics to bore you...

    Fuel lines...

Connectors to mate fuel lines to fuel rail.

I got the correct u-joint to mate my drive shaft to the 4l80e yoke. The part number is Precision Joints #477. Has anyone put a 4l80e in a 88-98 c1500? Im still curious how the shift linkage is gonna match up.

Hopefully there is a present from Thunder Racing on my doorstep come this evening so I can do my cam/valve springs/water pump swap. My wiring guru Tim is coming tomorrow to install the new engine harness or atleast mock it up to make sure its all good.
Not a lot of comments on the thread....am I boring you guys?
