    ls1?

Ok looking to swap motors as about everyone knows. I know a ls1 is obviously lighter then the truck motors. Yet it doesnt have the cubes of a 6.0. If I were to list a ls1 as something I would throw in how many miles would be the cut off point for a good motor? Any major drawbacks to a ls1 over a 6.0?

As always, the lower the mileage the better, thats all. Great motor, with great potential to make more power. 6.0 has slight more torque is all. Wouldn't hesitate to jump on a fair LS1 deal. I did.

I wouldn't loose sleep over the weight difference between the two unless your truck is a gutted out full on dragster. It's something close to a 100lb difference only. If I had to choose my golden rule is "No replacement for displacement"

No replacement for spending almost a full grand over a 5.7 for 16ish cubes either... So far cheapest deal I found was 1700 for a lq9 with 50k...

not trying top thread jack.... but regarding the lq4/9 cr the 243 heads would up the lq4 cr to that of the lq9 without swapping to flat top pistons?
