youre going to hate this reply but here it goes

if in deed that is a 99-00 motor just sell it. its not a good motor to work with. the internals are junk, the crank is longer then others. its agood block to make a good 408 from.

that motor will never work with that tranny unless you swap out the crank. top if off the rods of that year motor are really weak compared to othe LQ4s
    2002 Lightning - GT headed 5.5Litre w/ Twin 7665s
    2002 Silverado - 427Lsx w/ Twin gt4202s
    2010 Silverado crewcab Z71 - 5.3litre w/ procharger
    2000 Wrangler - 5.3litre with some stance
    2014 Xsport- 3.5 Eco boost
    412 Motorsports

it ain't that I'm too big to listen to the rumors, It's just that I'm too damn big to pay attention to 'em..That's the difference

well if the tranny wont work with that block, will the 4l80e tranny work?

crank length.....could i just swap a later model crank into it?

what would be the best year 6.0 liter to get?

originally i was gonna buy an 02 6.0 bare block with crank, pickup tube, truck oil pan for 250.00 i priced the rebuild kit for 950.00 and totalled about 1200.00 MINUS heads, intake, cam, etc.

the 6.0 i bought was 500.00 plus rebuild kit for 950.00 so totals 1450.00 and INCLUDES heads, cam, intake, etc.

the motor is complete with coilpacks and everything so i figured i'm saving money in the end, plus i listened to it run for 20 minutes after not being started for a few week and it ran good.
i know the 4l60 needs spacers to mount to the 6.0 block and the 4l60 is identical to the 700r4 so whats the reason it wont mount?
